Decolourization of azo, anthraquinone and triphenylmethane dyes using aerobic granules: Acclimatization and long-term stability

چکیده

Abstract The long-term stability of aerobic granules is critical for decolourization different dyes in textile wastewater. Here, we investigated dye and the acetate-cultivated after exposure to dyes. Results show that can maintain excellent structure with presence azo triphenylmethane during a 200-day operation period, achieving biomass concentrations as high 8–12 g L−1 90% 100% efficiency, respectively. Aerobic granules, however, partially disintegrated anthraquinone, resulting efficiency ranging from 50 80% concentration low around 0.5 g L−1 due wash-out. study indicates granule much dependent on classes. enrichment specific species has not been affected by structure. rate microorganism ratio anthraquinone were 5–6.5 13.5–16.4 times, respectively, higher than those dyes, but total reactor performance poorer retention reactor. results suggest importance achieve better treatment dye-containing For first time, treating are reported here compared dye, which be used guide real wastewater containing azo, granules.
